Team Face to Face in the AIDS LifeCycle

No One is Untouched

Face to Face folks are big supporters of the AIDS LifeCycle which benefits the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center. Many of us participate in the annual 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to Los Angeles that happens the first week of June. Now that we have each reached our goal of $60,000 for those agencies, we’re hoping you will support us by making a donation to Face to Face.

Our Board President, Taya Levine – a past rider – now volunteers each year with the medical team. She also provides sign language interpretation at each night’s gathering of the 2,500 riders. Two other Board Members are also LifeCycle alumni. Rick Dean, our Executive Director, will be doing the ride for his second year. One of our Case Managers, Robert Kavanagh, has done the ride several times and has trained and supported many of the newer riders. Additionally, twelve of our volunteers and clients will be riding for the first time this year and we couldn’t be more proud of their accomplishment.

Your donation in support of Team Face to Face will help us with our goal of ending AIDS in Sonoma County. In addition to our many supportive services for people living with HIV, we are also committed to prevention efforts, and to our most powerful tool: free, anonymous/confidential, drop-in HIV testing with 20-minute results. Every $20 of your donation will provide a test and a risk-reduction counseling session.

Help us save lives and end AIDS in Sonoma County – 20 minutes at a time.”

We hope you’ll consider supporting Face to Face by clicking on the donate button below.  A gift of any amount will help so much!

Art for Life at Sacks on the Square

The 24th annual Art for Life is quickly approaching and we have a sneak peak of some of the fabulous art that will be auctioned off at this year’s event. Sacks on the Square, Face to Face and Memorial Hospice’s second hand thrift shop in downtown Santa Rosa’s Railroad square, is currently hosting a beautiful window display with a dozen of this year’s works of art. From platters to painting, bowls to vases, this year’s auction has it all.

The legendary auction features work by more than 200 amazing local artists, and displays the culinary and wine making talents of the region for your enjoyment. The event will take place at the Mary Agatha Furth Center in Windsor from September 16-17th, with a free one-day preview exhibition on September 16th from 12:00-3:00pm, and a private auction on Saturday, September 17th ($75 per person) from 2:00-6:00 pm.

Thanks to the wonderful sponsors, 100% of the money raised during the event will be used to ensure that every man, woman, and child living with HIV/AIDS in Sonoma County has access to life-changing services

We would show you a picture of this amazing window display, but we can’t give it all away! Head down to Sacks to check it out yourself, and do a little shopping while you’re there. Great vintage finds, no sales tax ever, and now an amazing display of  local artistic talent. What are you waiting for!
